## Hi Sarah! We’re so excited to be visiting your home today. Would you mind starting off by giving us some background on you?

> I was born and raised in Toronto, so I’m a Canadian at heart but I now live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend Graham and our two dogs, Georgie and Mac. LA has an amazing food scene so I love a night out at a great restaurant with friends. There are also unbelievable hiking trails, especially near the ocean, and that’s always something I can rely on when I want to escape and clear my head. I’m also a songwriter and have been putting much more focus on that now that I have a little bit of free time.

## It’s no secret that you have a pretty cool job… Did you always know you wanted to go into acting? What was it like working with your dad and brother on Schitt’s Creek?

> Having grown up with my dad in the industry, I knew from a really young age that acting was always something I wanted to pursue. My parents tried hard to steer my brother and me away from show business but if it’s in you, it’s in you I guess! Working with my family was an experience I am so grateful for. Being able to spend six years with them on a show was an incredible opportunity, one I’ll most likely never have again, so I made sure to take it all in with each season.

## Do you have a favorite memory from filming the show that you can share?

> That’s a tough one. There have been SO many laughs and quite a few (good) tears over the past six years that nailing one thing down is just too hard. Of course scenes with Dad and Daniel will always be some of my favourites for obvious reasons, but the cafe scenes between Twyla and Alexis hold a very special place in my heart.

## Will you tell us a little bit about your home?

> We live in the heart of West Hollywood and our building was designed by Julia Morgan, who also designed Hearst Castle, so we clearly had lots to work with when we first moved in. We fell in love with the high ceilings, arched doorways and crown molding that gave the apartment a bit of an old New York feel. We leaned into that when decorating, combining traditional with a relaxed vibe of California style.

## Do you feel like your personal fashion style aligns with your interior decor style? If so, how? What feeling do you want to convey when guests visit your home?

> I definitely feel like the two are aligned. There’s a classic, comfortable element to both. I love neutrals but am not afraid to throw pops of colour in when necessary! In regards to guests visiting, I want to make sure they feel at home when they come into our place. It should be somewhere they can flop down and have a glass of wine and feel at peace.

Did you keep any fun props from the Schitt’s Creek set? Do you use or display any of them in your apartment?

I kept as much as I could fit in my suitcase back to LA! I had to keep a menu and Twyla’s name tag, of course. Our set designer so kindly packed up a box full of Cafe Tropical dishes, plates, glasses and a few other things for me and I actually have coffee out of the mugs every morning. I also kept part of the chalkboard from above the counter which is one of my favourite things.

## When were you first introduced to the Gray Malin brand? Do you remember your first Gray Malin print?

> I was first introduced to Gray Malin about 6 years ago through a friend who pointed out one of his photographs in a store window. My first print was the “Dessert” photo from the balloon series, which was a birthday gift and something I had my eye on for a while. It seemed very fitting considering my sweet tooth.

## What drew you to the Tennis Team, Coral Beach Club for your bedroom? What about the La Fontelina Umbrellas Diptych above your couch?

> My boyfriend is from Bermuda so we wanted to find something from the Gray Malin in Bermuda series as a little nod to his hometown. He is a tennis player and Coral Beach Club is also a place he knows very well so we thought Tennis Team, Coral Beach Club was the perfect choice. I also love the uniqueness of the angle and how warm the colors are. For the living room, we were looking for something that really filled out the space so we knew we wanted a diptych. We were drawn to La Fontelina Umbrellas Diptych because Italy is very special to us, and I loved how vibrant it was.

## What about the Gray Malin lifestyle brand do you connect with most?

> I love the sense of play that the brand captures. There’s always a hint of adventure behind every image, no matter how serene it appears to be.

## Last but not least, what Gray Malin print could you see hanging in Cafe Tropical? What about the Rosebud Motel?

> I wish I could say that I could see any Gray Malin print in Cafe Tropical but if you’ve ever looked closely at those murals, you’ll notice taste isn’t something that was taken into consideration. That being said, a beach print from Hawaii would fit very nicely with the theme. As for the Rosebud Motel, I’d say The Dreamer photograph from the Bon Voyage series, because Stevie always had aspirations of a life outside Schitt’s Creek.

Feeling inspired? I know I definitely am. Sarah, thank you so much for letting us into your amazing home. It was such a treat and so fun to hear a little bit more about Schitt’s Creek and seeing how you styled my art! Discover dreamy art for your home and enjoy free framing and shippingon graymalin.com.
