Step Inside Everhem Owner's Stylish Billiards Room and Secret Speakeasy

Step Inside Everhem Owner's Stylish Billiards Room and Secret Speakeasy

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share a beautiful home styling display from the amazing Everhem owner, Haley Weidenbaum and her husband Adam Weidenbaum, just in time for our Gift More Save More event happening now to inspire your next purchase. I have been so fortunate to be using Everhem’s incredible custom window treatment in my own home renovations, and knew this home would be a perfect fit for us to tour! Haley’s gorgeous aesthetic with her interior design background captured my eye in her stunning Los Angeles home. I'm so thrilled Haley and Adam were willing to take the time to share some of her breathtaking rooms with all of us. Without further ado, let's get started!

## We’re so excited to be visiting your home today! Tell us a little about yourself.

1

> First and foremost, I am a mom of 3 extremely fun and loving kids. I grew up in Los Angeles and live just a few minutes from my childhood home with my husband, who happens to also be the co-founder of Everhem, and our son and twin daughters. With my previous career as an interior designer and now as the co-founder of Everhem, I am lucky enough to use our house as my never ending project, and make it our sanctuary in the process. Though there is rarely a dull moment in our very full house, I wouldn’t want it any other way!

## Your career seems so interesting! Can you give us a little peek into what you and your husband do?

> From my childhood bedroom, to my college dorm, to my first home, I have always naturally been drawn to making spaces feel like home. This affinity for design inspired my first career as an Interior Designer. I found joy in helping clients transform their spaces and achieve their design goals. After a decade in the industry, I encountered a problem - every project needed custom window treatments, but no one could provide a simple way to make that happen. After curating a timeless aesthetic and developing a seamless interface, my husband, Adam, and I founded Everhem, a simpler way to design custom window treatments.
>
> Adam began his career in finance and then transitioned to his real passion of graphic design. I pitched him my idea for a window treatment company and after a little persuading, he shifted gears to help us create Everhem. With his skill sets in both graphic design and finance and mine in interior design, we made the perfect team. He honed in on the company’s identity and branding, determining the name, logo and overall feel of Everhem while I focused on making window treatments an enjoyable and easier journey for all.
>
> We created not only a product but also an experience that you cannot find elsewhere; a beautifully branded company that offers curated, custom window treatments while avoiding overcomplicating the process for the consumer.

## How do you balance your home life with your business?

> I’ve learned to expect the unexpected! We launched Everhem in August 2019 and only a few months later, the pandemic started and I found out I was pregnant… with identical twin girls! Being stuck at home and very pregnant, there was little separation and balance between home and work life during our first year in business. Along with the rest of the world, Adam and I were quarantining. But we were also figuring out how to run a company and make it successful while going from a household with one kid to three.
>
> That first year taught us the most important lesson we’ve learned; set boundaries between our business and our homelife. While work has been very demanding during the first 3 years, we have made sure to be home for bath and bedtime. Nowadays, we try our best not to work on the weekends (unless 100% necessary), so we can be present with our kids and give ourselves a breather.

## Tell us about your interior design style/ what the vision was for your home?

> At the core, I am obsessed with all things interior design, and I revel in turning a house into a home. I love the idea of taking an empty room with white walls and transforming it into a thoughtfully designed, inviting space that feels lived in. I truly believe that the spaces around us affect our everyday lives. So, when it comes to my own home, I’ve placed a lot of importance on creating a space that perfectly fits my family’s lifestyle.
>
> One way our home speaks to us is through colors and subtle patterns. Adam and I both love color but tend to stay away from anything too saturated and bright. We prefer muted shades of blues, greens and pinks. Additionally, in order to make the space feel lived, we layered in elements like wallpaper, wall textures and window treatments. When it comes to lighting, art and accessories we firmly believe in juxtaposing modern and traditional pieces that speak to the idea that we are contemporary people but old souls . Each of these elements bring our home to life and make it our own.

## When were you first introduced to the GM brand? What was your first piece?

> I was first introduced to Gray Malin through one of my very first interior design jobs. The client already owned a large-scale iconic aerial piece of Gray’s art. The scale and perspective of the photo transformed my client’s living room and helped influence the colors and design of the space. It feels full circle to now be working with Gray and curating our home with his pieces.

## Can you tell us a little bit more about what inspired your print choices?

> We knew we needed art for our billiard room and speakeasy, so we decided to try and capture and enhance the vibe of space with Gray Malin prints. Our billiard room, which we also call our record room, is where Adam and I go to chill out. Whether it's just the two of us or we’re hanging out with family and friends, we love putting on a record, shooting some pool and relaxing. As we browsed through Gray’s work, we knew we wanted something that transported us to a place where we could be totally zen. As soon as we saw the print of the Four Seasons Wailea, we knew it was the winner because we spent the bulk of our honeymoon there in pure bliss. The aerial shot is so crisp, we can make out exactly where we took a mid-afternoon nap on a hammock.

Speakeasy side by side

> For the speakeasy, the vibe is timeless, elegant revelry. All of the finishes are elevated yet fun. We had dreamed of creating a gallery wall in our speakeasy, and the smattering of prints from the Beverly Hills Hotel fit the bill. Nothing says refined fun quite as well as the BHH. Lastly, we had two blank spots between the sconces on the bar wall that needed something special and relevant to the space. Gray’s airplane window prints could not have been more perfect. It was nearly too hard to pick just two from the collection, but the juxtaposition of the James Bond-esque martini shot and the shot of the lit joint encapsulates the essence of the room.

## What aspect of the Gray Malin lifestyle brand do you connect with?

> In a word: travel. Both Adam and I love to travel. We love exploring new places and revisiting the greatest hits from previous excursions. We love relaxing by the pool at a tropical resort or sipping a cocktail in a moody, upscale lounge. We love the feeling of an unstructured day that exists solely for you to live it to the fullest. And for a brief moment in time, all the responsibilities, worries and cares of daily life fade away and you can just breathe. With young kids and a business to run, the opportunities for such escapes are few and far between, so it’s nice to have beautiful art on the walls that you can lose yourself in everyday.
