Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone had a lovely 4th of July! For today's tour, Iam sharing a very relatable post on the home of Saul Rasco ofTrend Styled. A recent New York transplant to sunny Los Angeles, Saul moved into an adorable west coast bungalow, and today we're showing off how he maximized his space with the help of some stunningbeach aerial photography by yours truly. Whether it's a single room in a larger home or the entire space is your home, let's generate some inspiration for decorating small spaces as well as get to know Saul a little better...
## Won't you please introduce yourself as well as what Trend Styled is all about?
> I’m originally from Dallas, Texas. After moving to and living in New York City for 6 years, I recently moved to West Hollywood to escape the winters for good. Trend Styled is a men’s fashion and lifestyle blog that I launched 5 years ago and includes all things personal style, travel, fitness, and even a shop. When I’m not blogging or doing photography work, I love to travel as often as I can.
## And, how has the transition from NYC to LA been for you?
> As much as I love and appreciate the experience I had in NYC, LA has been the perfect spot for my lifestyle. It’s the perfect mix between a fast-paced city that I loved about NYC and laid back vibes that I love about home back in Texas.
I can certainly appreciate that, as I've spent quite a bit of time in New York and always appreciate coming back home to Los Angeles...not to mention, I'm also from Dallas, so I gravitate towards a laid back lifestyle, too. Let's talk about your home and how you've approached studio apartment ideas.
## You’re living in a cute little bungalow. How do you maximize your space?
> Coming from NYC, I’ve become a master on decluttering. If I don’t use or wear something over a thirty day period, I get rid of it. This is the first apartment I’ve had that really feels lived in and it’s mostly because I only keep great pieces that really mean something to me.
## When it comes to decorating your dream space what aesthetics, themes or details do you focus on?
> Calling it a bungalow is spot on. At heart I’m a home-body, so I wanted to keep my space bright and calm so I can really relax so I really went for a beach bungalow vibe using colors that remind me of the beach… deep blues, greens, whites, and browns.
## Your print selections seem in line with your color palette. Is there a particular reason behind the particular prints that you selected?
> As much as I love traveling, the one place I haven’t marked off my bucket list is Italy. When I saw this photograph of Capri, it instantly took me to the coast that I can’t wait to visit within the next few months. As for the other two, I've been a big fan of your beach aerials for a while, now. Bondi Beach Waves, which I have hanging above my bed, was my first print of yours then my second is from your Italian Geometric series. Clearly, I have a love of Italy and aerials, which you do both very well!
## Last but not least, what about the Gray Malin lifestyle brand do you connect with?
> Without a doubt, the travel aspect. It’s my favorite thing to do and I’ve really committed to checking off each place I want to visit. I love bringing his pieces into my space that remind me of places I want to or have visited.
I'll definitely cheers to that! Thank you so much Saul for letting us into your adorable bungalow and sharing all your tips on decorating small spaces. I'm happy to see that some of my beach aerials are helping to brighten the space and bring a little bit of the beach with you home. If you're inspired by Saul's story be sure to follow along with him here as well as check out all three of his prints and more right HERE.
Cheers,
xx
