Using Large Dining Room Wall Art to Make an Impression

Using Large Dining Room Wall Art to Make an Impression

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited to show you the transformation of our dining room and butler’s pantry in our new home. It is amazing how adding large wall art to your space can make such a strong impression on your guests. Aside from the art, we wanted to make sure that the decor instantly transports you to a coastal retreat, which quickly became a common theme throughout our home. In our old home we used our dining room space as our kids playroom, so we have never really had the opportunity to have a formal dining room. We are so grateful to finally have this stunning entertainment space that we adorned with some of our favorite coastal artwork in large sizes to make this space feel like a mini getaway. If you are feeling inspired, be sure to check out our coastal shop, and take advantage of the limited days of our free framing and shipping promotion happening now!

## The Dining Room

When we first moved in, our home had a modern farmhouse aesthetic, which didn’t feel true to our personal style. To achieve the consistent coastal look and feel throughout the home that we were going for, we wanted to make sure to bring blue and white hues into this entertaining space right away. Throughout our home, I sprinkled in chinoiserie touches with several jars, and vases in each room. While we added a few of these jars in this room, we also found this amazing blue and white cherry blossom chinoiserie style wallpaper called, Lauziere - Blue by Brunschwig & Fils. We also added these stunning fabric Feather Bloom in Two Blue drapes by Schumacher. I love the way the sunlight peeks through the drapes in this room, and the pattern play the wallpaper and drapes create…so dreamy!

We found our classic black wooden dining table on First Dibs. These black bamboo chairs from Ballard Designs match perfectly. We decided to reupholster them and replace the white cushions from Schuyler Samperton Textiles, in the Benghal Stripe linen in the Caspian shade. We have never had this large of a table, and after already hosting a few events in this room with this table, I am so excited to continue making memories here! The formal table truly came to life once it was adorned with table settings at each place. Our go to place for all things tablescape is Juliska. To go with the theme of this room, we got these adorable blue and white party plates. I love to use placemats (see here), charger plates, a large plate, and a salad plate to really make the dining experience feel elevated. We have these adorable Juliska bamboo utensils that also fit seamlessly with the style of the room.

Since I was recently in Palm Beach, and have always been inspired by the interior design themes, I wanted to bring accents to our dining room. We found these amazing raffia pagodas, and rattan hurricanes & vases from Amanda Lindroth. I also love these two large Ralph Lauren Home chinoiserie lamps on each side of the pagoda, they look so whimsical at night during dinner parties lit up amongst the candles.

On to my favorite part… Let’s talk about art! It was so fun picking out large wall art for this room as we could choose transportive photos that evoke a feeling of escape when our guests enter the space. We went with one of my favorites and best-sellers from my La Dolce Vita series,“Day Trip to Capri” and a coastal classic from my Nantucket series, “The Surfboards, Nantucket.” What do you think?

## The Butler’s Pantry

When you walk through our dining room, you will see a door that goes directly into our butler’s pantry. While it is a small space, it acts as our bar area. When we moved in this room didn’t feel like our style, so we updated the painted the drawers and cubicle boxes our signature Farrow & Ball "Sloe Blue #86" with a satin finish, replaced each of the cubical backings with grasscloth, added new blue and white tile over the pre-existing tile and added a fun bold wallpaper, called Bamboo Trellis in blue by Brunschwig and Fils.

For art, we added “Spritz O’Clock, Nantucket” which was a very fitting touch for this space, and of course we also included a “Splash of Veuve Clicquot” mini since I have always thought minis are the perfect bar area or bar cart additions.
