The Making of Gray Malin in Vail and Activations to Celebrate

Hi Everyone!

There is so much to celebrate with my latest series, Gray Malin in Vail! This series is so special to me because I was instantly so inspired by Vail ski archives from the past, and wanted to transport my audience back in time to these picturesque mountainside moments through a timeless lens. Not to mention that this series is dedicated to celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Vail Mountain Resort! It has been so rewarding seeing this dream series unfold, and that we get the opportunity to celebrate the series through live activations at the scene of these timeless shots!

I sourced specific vintage fashion and props from the 1960’s,1970’s and 1980’s styled in iconic landscapes to turn back time and evoke a feeling of timeless nostalgia for the alpine lifestyle. While filming it was truly freezing, and a fun fact was we had to ski to and from most of the different locations! The models were such good sports and did a great job of pretending to stay warm to strike a pose and be in the moment of each scene – in between shivering!

To celebrate this exciting new collection and the resort’s 60th anniversary, there will be a series of live activations including the following:

Another fun activation is called Vail Mail, located inside the Legacy Hut at the top of Vail Mountain where you can request a free postcard featuring a photo from the series and send the letter from the highest mailbox in Vail - a true nod to the vintage feel of this series!
