New City Additions to my Bon Voyage Series

New City Additions to my Bon Voyage Series

Hi Everyone,

I am so excited to welcome you aboard this new installment of one of my favorite series, Bon Voyage. I took a bit of a different approach for this group of flyers, and wanted to release more city centric characters… I cannot wait for you to see!

For those of you who are not familiar with my Bon Voyage series, many years ago I was inspired by a photograph that I saw at a museum of a stylish cocktail near the window of an airplane by William Eggleston. I loved the timeless setting of an airplane window, and knew I could add my personal vintage flair to one day create a series dedicated to the glamor of travel.

After creating many years of new cultural icon “portraits'' from 30,000 feet in the air, and after the success of one of my personal favorite passengers from the 2020 series additions, The Dallas Gal, I thought it would be a great idea to tap into the passion my audience has for locations that are meaningful to them. Fun fact, The Dallas Gal was a homage to one of my favorite drinks from my hometown, the Mambo Taxi from the restaurant Mi Cocina in Dallas (if you have not been, you need to add it to your list for your next Dallas trip). From this, I decided to expand the destination focused Bon Voyage characters to represent other cities where I have created iconic work.

Some of you might not know that I went to school in Boston, and it happens to be where Jeff and I met, during the Boston Marathon! Boston is such a special place to both of us, so I knew this felt like the perfect personal touch to add to our home. The Boston Gal is wearing an Ivy league-esque cardigan and of course drinking beer in honor of her favorite baseball team, the Red Socks.

## The LA Gal

The LA Gal is one of my favorite additions to the series – as an LA resident for many years now, I have been a frequent shopper at the popular grocery store Erewhon. Truly living up to the “healthy” hype this city evokes, I thought a green juice would be the perfect touch. There are so many delicious places to drink, and eat, everything from green juice, to sweet treats – be sure to check out all of my Los Angeles favorites with my LA travel guide.

## The Aspen Gal

As many of you know, Aspen is such a special palace to me, and after creating so many amazing memories, and getting a taste of the common Aspen visitor, this fancy outfit felt like the perfect way to arrive in style. I knew I wanted her to hold a trendy and delicious drink, and an Espresso Martini felt like the ideal fit, while also pairing perfectly with her brown fur cuffs. Explore my Aspen favorites with my Aspen travel guide here.

## The Palm Beach Gal

This is another location that I am very familiar with, and I thought showcasing the preppy persona this sunshine state showcases, would make for a very fun passenger. I dressed her in a Lily Pultzer tunic, with some designer accessories, and popped a citrus drink in her hand. I love the drinks and food of Palm Beach, and would love for you to check out some of my favorite sips and stays with my Palm Beach travel guide!

## The Chicago Gal
Untitled-4

Last but not least, The Chicago Gal! I have so many friends that grew up in Chicago, and wanted to find the perfect way to nod to this popular city. I gave her an All-American jean jacket with tiny Chicago Cubs buttons on the sleeve, and had her drinking an Old Fashioned, which is known as the cocktail of Chicago.

I am so excited that I now have a way to pay tribute to some of my favorite cities and style them in a group that feels so meaningful in my home. Which Bon Voyage characters are you most excited to bring home? Learn more about how Jeff and I styled these prints throughout our new home here.
