Mudroom Decor in Gray's New House

Mudroom Decor in Gray's New House

Hi everyone!

Welcome to our mudroom! While this is only a small space in our home, it’s an important one! Since the mudroom is an entry way into our home, we wanted to make sure the mudroom decor instantly transports you to a coastal retreat. This space was the perfect spot to feature art from my Nantucket series. Not only is Nantucket a special destination to our family (explore my travel guide here), but the colors and aesthetic of this series seemed to fit seamlessly into the vision of this room. I hope you feel inspired and are able to take advantage of our free framing and shipping promotion happening now.

When we first moved in, our home had a modern farmhouse aesthetic, which didn’t feel true to our personal style. We wanted to achieve a consistent coastal look and feel throughout the home, so we decided the first step was to paint the sliding barn doors a welcoming shade of blue. We transformed them from a dull green color to Farrow & Ball "Sloe Blue #86" with a satin finish. It is amazing how painting something can truly change the entire feeling a room brings.

Hello Gorgeous new light fixtures! We replaced the standard chrome fixtures with these Serena and Lily scallop pendants that added the perfect touch of warmth to the space!!

We loved the shiplap walls, but wanted to add visual interest through a fun pattern to play up the coastal theme. Wallpaper has always been one of my favorite interior accents. We selected this gorgeous blue and white wallpaper from Schumacher “Villa Stripe” in Peacock as it felt like the perfect beachy coastal addition to brighten up the entryway of our home from the moment you walk in. We have had so much fun playing with wallpaper in our new home, I cannot wait to show you the other rooms – stay tuned!

My favorite part.. Let’s talk about art! It was a no-brainer to hang "Spritz O’clock, Nantucket," as the wallpaper perfectly matched the boat cushion interior. I love how the space looks - this photo explodes off the wall and really takes your eyes directly to the art.

Next, we added a fun little surprise display behind these sliding farm doors, so we could either keep them shut to hide our belongings or leave them open to showcase a specially curated little nook. This space was originally meant for a washer and dryer, but we felt the laundry units made more sense upstairs so we could utilize this as a decorative drop-off area when coming home.. I love how "The Surfboards, Nantucket" looks in this space. The pastel surfboard variety contrasts so nicely with the grasscloth wallpaper, blue sliding doors, and peak of blue and white wallpaper at the top.

Last but not least, we are still waiting for our custom bench upholstery which will be in the striped fabric that I am holding in this photo. I think the cushion fabric will connect nicely to the wallpaper, and I am so excited to see this room finished!

So, what do you think? Do you have a favorite from the Nantucket series? I hope this post inspires you to add some fun decor to your mudroom, or other small spaces in your home, and take advantage of our Free Framing and Shipping sale happening now.
