Hi Everyone,
To kick off our Winter Wonderland sale of our Top 30 Most Popular Winter Images, I'm going to sharea beautiful home tour, which perfectly displays how to decorate with a ski aerial print. Please allow me to introduce you all to Lauren of the fun and flirty brand, PARTYSKIRTS.You've actually already met her sister and co-founder,Mariel,who welcomed us into her Vancouver home earlier this year. Today, I'm excited to see how the other half ofPARTYSKIRTSlives and decorates. Let's go in!
## Please tell us a little about yourself - where you live? What you like to do for fun?
> I am quirky, creative and always up for an adventure! I am an old soul that loves to entertain but doesn't like to cook. I try to give back to my community with my time and love connecting with other women in business. I am co-chairing the Vancouver Symphony Ball this February and have been on the committee for the past two years. I am passionate about cannabis education and my next dream is to create a brand that is marketed toward the female consumer.
## Could you give us an overview about what your business is all about? When did it launch?
> PARTYSKIRTS were designed by my sister and I as we both felt we needed to fill a void in our wardrobe. Party dresses just seemed so limited, while skirts can be styled endless ways. Our mom actually sewed our first few skirts and the rest is history...
>
> We launched almost five years ago…Wow, it has been an incredible journey! We both have learned so much operating this business together, we have grown in more ways than we could have ever imagined.
## What are the challenges as well as the joys of being an entrepreneur?
> Well the first thing I tell anyone starting their own business is that there is no way to prepare for the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur. If you have the guts to start something, you certainly have the strength to see it through. There is nothing more rewarding than creating something that can have a positive impact on someone else’s day. My favourite moments of our business have been the stories of women doing something special in their PARTYSKIRTS… It could be their birthday, an engagement party, or just an amazing day in the office. PARTYSKIRTS are so fun to wear that they create confidence in the wearer that is undeniable and I am proud of that.
I love Lauren's passion for her business and the overall story is really fun & inspired. I also love that shewent with a black frame for her Top of Aspen Mountain print as it really adds depthto her painted grey walls. _ **Fun fact** _, Top of Aspen Mountain is our best selling ski aerial _and_ it was taken on my very first mountain shoot.
## What inspired you to choose this Gray Malin print?
> I have always been a fan of Gray Malin! Early on we bought a print for my mom's Palm Desert home. When I saw his Aspen series I knew I had to get one! Not only is that my favourite place to ski, it also inspires me to get out there on the local mountains. I change up a few pieces in my place every season… This is the perfect piece to set the mood for Winter! One day I hope to put this in my cabin at Whistler (on my dream list!).
Please take a picture when you do! We'd all love to see it! I love Whistler, it's such an epic place to ski. One of my favorite shots from my Whistler photographs is Little Whistler Peak and as luck would have it, it is part of our Top 30.
## We would love to know more about your style when it comes to decorating your home/dream space (what aesthetics/themes/details you look for/emulate)
> I have always lived in very white and girly spaces. When I purchased my first place I wanted to take some risks. I worked with Gillian Segal Design who is a good friend and has amazing taste. She picked a darker shade of grey that I would have chosen and I just love it. Living in Vancouver it is key to have a place that feels cozzzy. I also wanted my apartment to feel grown up and glamorous (think lots of gold accents). I also wanted to have some fun with it... See the large tassel lamp inspired by my favourite oscar de la renta earrings. And framed bugs from Malaysia .. I love them!
Very cool! It all really comes together with such lovely cohesion.
## And, what about your other GM print? How'd you choose it?
> I love the bubble print, as it is so serene. It is the first thing I see when I walk in or out of the door. It has a calming effect on me! I also love the idea of putting this over my clawfoot bathtub one day. The key with an apartment is moving things around to feel fresh and updated.
Again, I really love this selection against the grey painted wall. I agree with the white frame choice, too, as it really emphasizes the light in the shot. Last but not least...
## What about the Gray Malin lifestyle brand do you connect with?
> Well one of the great pleasures in life is to travel, and Gray has seen it all. From Antarctica to Palm Springs he captures a fun and playful perspective wherever he goes. I really can’t wait to see where he goes next!!!
>
> Thanks for coming over!
>
> PS- you can see my sister's apartment (which is across the hall) here.
