Launch Party
Hi Friends,
Last weekend we threw an intimate party to celebrate the completion of The Gray Malin Getaway House and the launch of the Santa Barbara Magazine summer issue featuring my photography shot at the Coral Casino, here in Montecito. We had some amazing guests in attendance, including my new friend Jennifer Smith, President and Director of Santa Barbara Magazine. I can’t thank the people who helped make the event such a success, including our friends at Don Julio who provided the refreshments for our guests.
Not only were mini bottles of Don Julio 1942 with straws being passed around, but we had fresh local uni being served by Get Shucked SB and an abundance of stunning flowers from Emma Rose Floral. To top off the party, the sun came out after a gloomy Montecito morning.
This party was a true celebration, not only bringing my new local Montecito friends together in addition to friends who joined us from LA, but my parents flew in from Dallas to see the house for the first time and it was incredibly special to have them there. They even got a special tour of the house with our very own guides, Dove and Max — they were sure to show their grandparents all their favorite rooms.
I was especially excited to have Madison Nicole and her associate Tia who helped bring this house to life with their impeccable design skills there to celebrate and toast the completion of this monumental project.
The house did all the work for the event. It was the first time we had hosted, and it comfortably fit all the guests. Plus, it let us test how well stocked the kitchen truly is — which is well stocked thanks to our friends at Williams Sonoma. The indoor/outdoor living space makes it ideal for events like this and the evening sun kept away a chill, and dressed the property in such a beautiful light.
The absolute best part of the event was hearing everyone’s love for the Getaway House as they walked around exploring the rooms and property. It was a true evening of pride for all that we accomplished these past 9 months from purchasing the house through until this party, it took a village, but it is ready for guests.
Speaking of guests, we had friends and my parents stay with us for the weekend and my mom who has a great eye for design and detail only complained that we needed hairdryers (which have been ordered!).
That’s all for now! You can find more details about the process of completing this house here. Or if you want to book your own Montecito getaway you can here.
xx Gray
