Interior Design Part 2

Interior Design Part 2

Hi Friends!

Demo is complete and renovations are underway on the Gray Malin Getaway House! If you haven’t already read about the update from the last interior design post, take a moment to dive in there first. Let’s take a peek into the remaining rooms!

As mentioned before, my favorite part of a house project is the interior design – the process and details that go into a home are the best. I’m also so thankful that I get to collaborate with Madison of Madison Nicole Design who has helped to pull everything together seamlessly.

Bunk Room

The bunk room is the perfect sleepover space for kids. The functional furniture of this room allows for a neat layout design, while also comfortably sleeping 4 people. Traveling with my kids has shown me how important it is for them to have their own space to hang out and play. We wanted the bunk room to be that place in the Getaway House.

Mud Room

The mud room is the designated space for everyday essentials. This room is not only designed to be the “catch all” area of the home, but includes optimal storage space with the built-in bench and desks. The double built-in desks were added for any work from home needs our guests may have while staying at the Getaway House. With all the clutter and chaos that can come with running around on vacation I wanted this space to feel calm and collected. The color we picked for the room reflects that perfectly.

Powder Room

Powder rooms are small spaces, but they can be one of the most impactful in a home. With that in mind we designed this one to be unforgettable. The top half of the walls and ceiling will be adorned with my iconic umbrella wallpaper collaboration with Mitchell Black. While the bottom half will be paneled and painted a coastal blue. The countertop is a quartz that has gold veins, so we made all the hardware and sconces gold to really bring that out. The final touch and unique touch to the powder room is a scalloped apron on the sink.

Media Room

The media room is the perfect multi-use space. With a big sectional couch and additional bench seating, this space acts as an area to entertain and spend quality time with loved ones. We chose fabulous dog photography like, The Pool Day, The Colony Hotel to compliment the Gray Malin, Pin Strip umbrella wallpaper that we picked. I particularly love the sconce over the bench seat in this room for some cozy reading time.

That's all for now! Stay tuned for more details on the outdoor space we’re crafting with our landscape architect. At a house like this, the exterior has to be just as thoughtful as the interior.

The countdown has offically begun with rental booking going live in June!

Cheers friends x
