You know the drill, we’re back with this month’s Gray Malin-inspired manicure, done by our talented friends over at Olive & June! We are especially excited about this one, because not only is the manicure so simply adorable, but it is also inspired by Gray’s brand new collaboration with S’well. If you haven’t heard yet, Gray teamed up with the sleek and ethically-minded water bottle company, and together they created Gray’s very own S'well bottle, featuring the ever-so-popular “Bondi Beach” print.
“Bondi Beach” stands as one of Team GM’s absolute favorites, because of its strikingly bold colors and fun energy. There’s just something about the perfectly imperfect array of colors and lounging beach-goers that stands out against the smooth sandy background. In our opinion, it truly embodies the essence of summer—laidback and lively, all at the same time! See what we mean? With that said, the "Bondi Beach" print looks amazing wherever you place it. On your walls, on a water bottle… and now on our nails! Keep scrolling to see the tutorial for this fun and simple manicure to try at home…
Since all those tiny people on the beach look almost like multi-colored dots on the sand, we decided to take that approach with our nails. We love the simplistic design, and with just one tool and a few colors, you can recreate the look at home. Here’s how it’s done…
1. Start by coating your nails with a sandy tan color (keep it light so the dots stay nice and bright when you add them!). OPI ‘Be There In a Prosecco’ is perfect for this.
2. After your tan coat has dried, take a dotting nail tool and dip it into a bit of brightly colored nail polish (we recommend keeping these colors solid, rather than using shimmery or glittery polishes. It keeps the color looking bold and bright.) Dot a single, randomly placed dot on your nail.
3. Repeat step number two on the next nail, this time using a different colored polish, and place it in a different spot than the nail next to it. Make sure to keep the placing of the dots at random from nail to nail, to achieve that perfect disarray like the loungers on the beach.
4. Once you have placed a different dot on each nail, move onto the next hand and repeat! Finish off with a clear top coat, let dry, and you’re good to go. Tip: make sure the dots are completely dry before adding your top coat, to prevent the dots from smearing!
Easy, right? We loved rocking this manicure, and we know you will too. The simplicity of the design, mixed with the fun colorful twist makes for the perfect summer mani. Thanks again to Olive & June for creating this cute look! **Are you going to try this beachy manicure at home?** We hope you love this look as much as we do, and don’t forget to pick up the new Bondi Beach S’well Bottle to pair with your new mani!
