Hi everyone,
Dust off those passports – we're taking flight to meet the latest characters of Bon Voyage!
You know, I often find myself drawn to moments that feel both timeless and fleeting – the way a certain light catches a scene, or the unspoken story behind a perfectly composed image. That's what I try to capture in my work, and it's definitely at the heart of the Bon Voyage series.
While the glamour of the 1960s jet-set era has fueled this collection (and if you've seen my Gray Malin at the Coral Casino series, you know how much I love that era!), the seed for Bon Voyage was actually planted by a William Eggleston photograph, shown below to the left. There was something so captivating about its effortless composition, the way it captured a specific time and place with such simplicity. It sparked my imagination and got me thinking about capturing moments of travel in a new way.
That photograph is what led me to thinking about my own version of portraiture, capturing a personality through a cocktail and a few carefully chosen accessories. It's like asking, "If you could invite anyone to a dinner party, who would it be?" Only this time, they're joining us on a first-class flight! Speaking of which…
Our first-class cabin is quite the sight this year. There's the stylish American in Paris with bubbly in hand, the Chalet Girl ready to hit the slopes, and the Receiver making an impressive catch.
You might recognize The Eras Gal from a sold out stadium near you! The energy this performer brings on stage is electric, and we’re thrilled to have her aboard this year.
I am always so inspired to create new work that transports you, and Bon Voyage is no exception. I’ve loved seeing this series styled in pairs or even larger groups - as if you’re strolling down the aisle of a plane or joining the other passengers in the onboard lounge. It’s so hard to pick just one, right?
So, who will you be inviting on your next flight of fancy? Head over to the shop to see all the new Bon Voyage characters, find your favorites, and let your imagination take flight. I can't wait to see how you style them in your home!
Xx,
Gray
