Bahamas Dreaming

Bahamas Dreaming

Hi everyone!

There’s something about the Bahamas that just calls to me - that perfect blend of laid-back island vibes and breathtaking turquoise waters. It’s a tropical oasis where everything is photogenic, and it’s been so fun to continue to explore and photograph. If you've followed me for a while, you know how much I love Harbour Island – the three-mile stretch of pink sand is pure magic (and if you haven't seenmy photos from there, you definitely should!). But on my most recent trip to the Bahamas, I wanted to venture a little further and discover some hidden gems.

This time around, I found myself exploring Abaco, which is known for boating, sailing, snorkeling, and shipbuilding.

Of course I needed to pay a visit to the candy striped lighthouse, Elbow Reef. It’s one of only three manual lighthouses left in the world!

Who could go to the Bahamas and not visit Nipper's?! It's one of the most iconic spots to have fun!

When you’re visiting Norman’s Cay, don’t miss the chance to see Pablo Escobar’s sunken plane. It's a pretty surreal sight from above, and it's become a go-to snorkeling destination.

Then, it was back to Harbour Island, which, as always, did not disappoint. The island is truly an escape from reality and I made sure to revisit some of my favorite spots!

The Dunmore Hotel still remains one of my favorite places in the Bahamas and I encourage you to stay on the beach side, if possible, to enjoy the beautiful pink sand and turquoise waters up front and center.

With over 700 islands in the Bahamas, there’s an island for every traveler out there, and the best part: things move more slowly in the Caribbean which means you’ll have plenty of time to explore.

Whether you’re looking to sip Bahama Mamas or you want to explore the country from the ocean floor, there’s truly something for everyone. But The Bahamas are more than just breathtaking scenery, it’s a travel experience steeped in culture, rich in history, and powered by warm, welcoming locals!

I recommend you carve out time to appreciate the Bahamian lifestyle. Try the conch fritters and fresh seafood, sample the local Kalik beer, and listen to the Junkanoo music. The locals will welcome you with open arms and show you the true "island time."

So, pack your bags, your camera, and your sense of adventure. Whether you're drawn to the beaches, the culture, or the cuisine, The Bahamas has a way of capturing your heart!

Xx,

Gray
