6 Movies to Inspire Summer Travel

6 Movies to Inspire Summer Travel

Hi everyone!

Summer movies are basically mini vacations in disguise. The beach! The romance! The life-changing solo trip that somehow only requires one suitcase! I love how these films can sweep you into a daydream, and convince you that yes, you do need to book a one-way ticket to the Amalfi Coast. So in the spirit of escapism, nostalgia, and incredible soundtracks, here are five iconic summer films that capture the magic of travel, plus some of my favorite prints that bring those destinations to life.

1. Mamma Mia!
The Greek Islands

Dancing queens, cliff jumps, and the bluest water you’ve ever seen — Mamma Mia! is summer escapism at its finest. It’s carefree, it’s chaotic, and it absolutely makes you want to impulsively buy ferry tickets and learn choreography. My photography of Mykonos and Santorini bring that same energy — no singing required (but highly encouraged).

2. The Talented Mr. Ripley
The Amalfi Coast

Style. Suspense. Matt Damon in vintage swim trunks. The Talented Mr. Ripley is basically what happens when you mix European summer with a little light identity theft. It’s equal parts dreamy and dramatic. My Italian coastline prints deliver the luxe vibes, minus the plot twists.

3. Notting Hill
London

You don’t need to be a famous actress to fall in love in a charming bookstore — but it doesn’t hurt. Notting Hill is rainy-day romance, pastel houses, and an entire wardrobe of soft cardigans. My London collection captures that same storybook charm, just in case your Hugh Grant moment is still loading.

4. It's Complicated
Montecito, California

It’s Complicated is a Nancy Meyers fever dream in the best possible way — all crisp linens, garden parties, and very good lighting. It’s California living with just enough chaos to make you laugh between house envy spirals. My Montecito prints bottle up that same relaxed elegance.

5. The Parent Trap
Napa Valley

A cinematic masterpiece that gave us twin hijinks, secret handshake goals, and a burning desire to attend summer camp (ideally with vineyard views). The Parent Trap is peak '90s summer — and my Napa Valley prints bring that same nostalgic charm with a little more rosé.

5. A Good Year
Provence, France

This film is basically a love letter to quitting your job and moving to a vineyard — something we’ve all considered at least once, right? A Good Year gives us lavender fields, sun-dappled courtyards, and Russell Crowe learning how to relax. My Provence prints bring to life a charming summer in the South of France.

Whether it’s a song, a sunset, or a scene you’ve memorized by heart, summer has a way of sticking with us. These movies remind us why — and my prints let you hang onto the magic a little longer. Or at least until you finally book that Italian villa.

Cheers!

Xx,

Gray
