I hope your holiday season is off to a great start! As we head into the holiday season I wanted to give you all an update on a major change we’ve made to our home in LA—our new playroom! It's been such an amazing improvement and I'm so happy with how bright and playful it is.

Before:

You may remember last year that we revealed our formal dining room. And earlier this year we revealed our (old) playroom. Both of these spaces were so beautiful and were great to have in the house, but as time went on we realized that A) we didn’t really have a need for a formal dining room and B) the logistics of the playroom at the time just didn’t work for us. So, we decided to convert our dining room into a brand new playroom.

Before we designed our dining room, the walls in the room were black. Talk about a transformation! We were lucky in that after designing the space as a dining room the first time around, we didn’t have to change anything other than the furniture to make the room a youthful and inviting playroom.

After:

This change has made Jeff’s and my life so much easier. The room is open to the rest of the house (don’t worry, we had it gated) and located with easy access to our kitchen and living room. The theme for the playroom was animals, which made my furniture collection with Cloth & Co. a no-brainer when it came to furnishing the space.

One of my favorite parts about this furniture collection is how easily it can be incorporated into so many different decor styles. Though there are some bolder designs, we tried to make our designs neutral and a little more subtle so that they worked universally in different types of spaces. We wanted them to look sophisticated while still adding a touch of whimsy. One of my personal favorites are the chairs—Max and Dove love them too!

So, what do you think? We’re so happy with how the room turned out and hope you love it too. It just goes to show you don’t have to sacrifice style when designing a playroom—it can still be totally chic!
