Hi Everyone,

As promised, I'm bringing you all behind the scenes of my latest series release,Gray Malin at the Coral Casino Beach and Cabana Club. Won't you join me on set?

YES. It was absolutely as fun as it looked! Shot over the duration of two beautiful days this past September, Iconceived this series within moments of stepping inside thishistoric landmark a couple months prior. To give you a little insight into what I mean, let me begin withI am very inspired by the jet set life of the early twentieth century, a time whenmen wore suits to fly and ladies enjoyed a gimlet or two at lunch.Growing up, I was an avid movie watcher, especially of films from the “Golden Age,” that simply oozes glamour. Well, as an adult, my affinity for this era has flourished and found its way into my work, most evidently (but not limited to)La Dolce Vita, Poolside and Aqua Glam. Needless to say, I was transported into this glamorous era immediately at the Coral Casino. The light and Art Deco architectural designs were key factors in my inspiration. Probably most importantly, though was the Casino’s rich history as anexclusive membership social club that had hosted countless society events attended by Hollywood elite, dating back to 1937, that most intrigued and ignited my imagination.

DAY 1

Speaking of Aqua Glam, once again, I tapped the talented synchronized dance team, the Aqualillies, to help me bring my vision to life with this iconic backdrop as my muse. We had a lot to accomplish so I broke up the two days according to the number of Aqualillies that would be needed in each shot. For the first day, it was all about the group shots! With costume changes, fashionable as well as water-friendly props and an upbeat attitude, we moved seamlessly through the day.

DAY 2

With a successful first day behind us, I was in high spirits for what laid ahead. For Day 2, we focused on shots with 4 or less Aqualillies. I really love how captivating this set of shots turned out. They feel intimate, yet welcoming at the same time.

It was a lot of fun working with a variety of props in this series. When researching accessory options,I was struck by the boater hat and knew immediately that I wanted to include them in the series. It adds a timeless nod to this shot. Also, how amazing is the light?

Along with the boater hat, I was very keen on weaving playful nods to iconic moments of fashion’s past, which is best illustrated with the shot Black & White Bucks. It’s interesting how certain items can hold such a romantic sentiment in one’s mind, even when they aren’t in vogue at the time. To wrap the shoot, we ended it in the upmost appropriate way...it was time for a little Aprés Swim.

And just like that, it was a wrap! As always, thanks so much for following along, and I hope you enjoyed joining me Behind the Scenes as much as I enjoyed sharing it all with you.

To see the series in its entirity, look no further than right here, and to learn more about how it all came about, then thisis the post for you.

Cheers,

xx
