Home/Room Tour: Jamie Chung’s California Chic Style

Hi Everyone

I wanted to share a beautiful home tour to help you make some decisions. I always love to see how others style my art in their homes, especially when their style is so different from my own. I'm so thrilled Jamie was willing to take the time to share her chic style with all of us. Without further ado, let's get started!

I am an actor, therefore my work takes me places all over the world. I currently reside in Los Angeles and Brooklyn. I grew up in San Francisco, therefore I am biased to the west coast. Being outdoors in nature, camping underneath the stars brings me joy. I am dog obsessed and happily married to my partner in crime, fellow actor Bryan Greenberg.

Your career is pretty multi-faceted, could you tell us a little bit about what all you do?

Aside from acting in films and television shows, I am also a fashion enthusiast. Overall, I am a storyteller. What brings me joy is collaborating with other artists to help tell their stories.

Our Brooklyn home is approximately 2,400 square feet. 3 bed 3 bath. Upstairs you will find our sitting room, kitchen, master bedroom and bath. A guest bathroom is found just before you reach the stairwell to our two guest bedrooms below with another full bath. Downstairs you'll also find our cozy screening room. We have a decent size backyard for entertaining which is accessible from every bedroom. And we are a stone's throw away from Fort Greene Park. The style of our apartment is very modern, but the large oversized factory style windows gives us a lot of light throughout the day. And our place is furnished with a lot of wood  pieces that I find warms up our space.

I like to think it's a refined California Chic. I think our home is a perfect blend of both coasts. The exterior feels industrial and blends in nicely with NYC but the interior is warm and a bit bohemian like most homes in California. Space is limited in NYC, therefore we thoughtfully designed the space so every square foot is utilized.

How do you balance your home life with your career?

Post pandemic I still find myself taking meetings from one of our guest bedrooms that we converted to an office/gym. The backyard gets great light for photoshoots and recording videos. The lines are still very much blurred. It's a proper live work space.

When were you first introduced to the GM brand? What was your first piece?

I actually met Gray at a photoshoot years ago. I was always a fan of his art and in California I own a small aerial shot of people swimming in the ocean.

Every piece of Gray's inspires me to travel and see the world from a different perspective. Before traveling to New Zealand for work, I saw some of Gray's prints of Milford Sound, and Glaciers in Queenstown and made a mental note to book a helicopter tour of the most beautiful place on earth. It was spectacular! And before heading to Italy on my most recent trip, I was inspired to visit one of the most famous beach clubs in Capri, La Fontelina. I wanted Gray's print of the Beach Chairs as a souvenir for my future trip. I love the quirky irony of some of his art. The juxtaposition of a cowboy in front of the Prada store in Marfa, the sun umbrella in the Arctic that brings awareness to climate change. And the colorful soft balloons against a dry cracked salt bed.

What about the Gray Malin lifestyle brand do you connect with?

The colors, the familiar places, and the places I want to visit because of his art.

Jamie, thank you again for sharing your beautiful space with us and taking time to share about your home, life, and career. Make sure to stay up to date with Jamie by following her on Instagram and checking out her blog.

Cheers!

Xx
